poppy’s three month photos

i can’t believe i forgot to publish this post!! it has been sitting in my posts as a draft…because i totally meant to share these adorable photos! well better late than never right 🙂 i suppose i can relish in her sweet babyhood during her last couple months of being under 1 😦 here was the original post:

if you can’t tell, i am just totally in love with this little girl. she brings our family so much joy. thank you to my sister of taura horn photography for taking these photos, they are amazing! we have been comparing poppy in these photos to bastian’s three month photos, and let’s just say the similarities are real. bastian wasn’t too into taking photos with poppy and i think it hurt miss p’s feelings haha. but can we just talk about those little birdie lips below ❤

miss poppy: 3 months

this little nugget is three months old! she is such a happy girl and i seriously can’t get enough of her. it kind of makes my heart want to burst when i think about her. here are some of the lovely things about poppy right now:

-she likes to talk now and makes the cutest little squeaks
-she will smile at anyone and gives a little squeal to say hello
-she will nap in her crib but still sleeps in her rock n’play at night
-she is waking up once a night to eat and then right back to bed
-she doesn’t have a schedule like bastian did because she is more on the go
-she loves bath time and i had to move her baby bath tub from the counter to the big tub because she was splashing all over
-she took her first road trip to Minnesota and she did wonderfully in the car
-she doesn’t mind tummy time if she gets to be propped up on the boppy pillow
-she likes to stand up and look around and prefers to face out when held

poppy has proven to be a little doll baby. i can’t stop kissing her and trying to make her smile. i wish time would slow down, because before i know it she will be too big to sleep in my arms. ugh, i don’t even want to think about it 😦

happy birthday brian

it’s brian’s birthday today and i wanted to wish him a happy birthday with this adorable picture of him and bastian. this photo was taken this past year at the pumpkin patch. aren’t their little matching outfits so cute! this really wasn’t even planned… they just have such similar taste in clothes! happy birthday brian, you are another year older but another year wiser. love you!

family photos

well my sister did it again! she took some adorable two-year photos of bastian and of our little family. i love how they turned out! you can view the rest on her blog here. thank you so much taura horn photography!

best buds

this little guy got to spend some time with his good buddies this week. they got to go to the park and have a little indoor picnic. bastian showed off by going down the really big slide all on his own. he nearly flew off the bottom too. (why are some of those slides so slippery?) basitan also got to go visit his dad’s cousin at the fire station. grandma took him and said he had a blast and even got to “drive” the fire engine.

toddler life can be tiring too, and sometimes you fall asleep sitting up. i can’t believe he is going to be two in a month. i feel like year 1-2 went so quick! i am sure they will just continue to get quicker and quicker. although i hate to see my baby fade away, i love how much he is learning, growing and discovering every day. he is turning into a little boy who i love to pieces.

i sometimes look at him and think to myself ‘there is no way he could be any cuter’ and ‘how many time can i kiss him on the mouth to satisfy my heart bursting love for him? he’s a great little dude.

life lately

it has been a long time blog. sorry 😦 anyways, i thought i would dump some photos of life lately, mostly of bastian.

i want to squeeze him. this day he didn’t think he needed to take a nap, then around 6 he fell asleep on the couch. i had to snap a couple pics before i woke him up.

this little guy finally got a hair cut. like a ‘real’ haircut. you can see by the first photo that he needed it. the rat’s nest was no longer cute. he was such a good boy; although the first half of the cut had to be done with him standing on the ground because he didn’t want to sit in the chair. i really love it. he looks like a little dude and you can see his cute little ears.

in the cold months… i literally run out of fun things to do at home. the pipe cleaners and pom pom balls entertained him for about 30 minutes, so it wasn’t a total bust haha. climbing in the mega blocks bin is fun and well, when you can fit, why not try. he is really loving the idea of sunglasses.

thank god for warm weather lately! everyone is just happier. bastian is a big big fan of balls. isn’t every kid? “bootballs” and “saawballs” are where it’s at! he dribbles the ball all over the yard and park. he winds up to throw the football and usually ends up doing a few spins before launching it. he has also figured out how to “smile with your teeth”. he has been cheesing it up ever since. our neighborhood park has the most perfect climbing tree, and bastian loves to climb it with help of daddy.

this kid loves our bed. he will run into our room and climb under the covers and just lay there with a smirk on his face. last night when we were attempting to put a clean diaper and pj’s on. he managed to get loose, pee on the floor TWICE, climb into our bed butt naked with the covers up to his chin. we couldn’t help but laugh and pinch his little butt cheeks.

happy birthday brian!

i wanted to wish brian a happy birthday! i am so proud of you and just can’t believe how you can keep getting better and better with age 🙂 men do age well… and he’s no exception. we are going to celebrate his birthday for the next few days, because why not. i love you!

ps. it has been very silent on my blog lately… but i promise i have some fun things to share. it’s hard getting motivated after the holidays.

family photos

once again, my sister of taura horn photography NAILED IT! although it was freezing outside we managed to tough through it and get some great photos! i just love having a photographer in the family 🙂 lucky lucky me! i kind of want to eat basitan up too. he is finally big enough for this little blazer… and it has me thinking, ‘can he wear this everyday?’ when did boys clothes get so adorable? and why does bastian continue to be called a girl when he wears studly outfits like this? i will never know.

i hope everyone is getting those last minute shopping trips out of the way and all your presents wrapped under the tree. i am nearly done! i also had grand plans to wrap my presents all pinterest-y and what not, but yeah then i realized no one really cares… so i just went with cute wrapping paper.

bastian visits santa

bastian went to visit santa this past weekend at lauritzen gardens. there was toy trains, poinsettias, nature walks and of course the sweet old man santa. bastian wasn’t too sure about him, but he did sit on his lap long enough to snap a few photos. santa gave him a candy cane, which he chewed through the plastic wrapper because he couldn’t wait to eat it, and said he would grant all his christmas wishes! we spent the majority of the time pointing out the trains that kept going around and around and around.

this kid loves trains. we have a thomas the train toy catalog (why?) and he reads like it’s a book. he loves to shout “all aboard!” which sounds like “ahhhbooorrr”. it’s pretty adorable. trains, trucks, planes and blocks is all that little kid needs to keep happy.
